For the past 5 years I have tried to go gluten free, dairy free and find information on whether or not I need to also be soy free for the best outcomes for my thyroid.
The above results are what I got on June 1, 2022.
Free thyroxine (FT4) should be between 9.0 - 25.0
Thryoid Stimulating Hormone should be between 0.40 - 4.00
Free Tri-iodothyronine (FT3) should be between 3.5 - 6.5
And my reverse T3 which should be between 238.6 - 539 came in at 318.
Taking gluten out of your diet is the most important thing in my opinion. Kylie Wolfig in her book "The Thyroid Encyclopaedia" says that 1 crumb of gluten will set you back 6 months.
I find a lot of people will go to a restaurant and just because it doesn't say it's crumbed they think the dish is gluten free. If the menu offers which dishes are gluten free and there is no GF next to the dish, then they have added gluten. This relates a lot for steak dishes, where the gluten is hidden in the sauce, or chips and dressings.

Taking dairy out of your diet I have found can differ depending on the person.
Unfortunately as it costs to get the tests done you need to be your own scientist to see how dairy affects you. Are you lactose intolerant but you say you can't live without cheese, then you need to watch to see how you feel after you eat cheese, how your body reacts, do you get tired 30 mins later, etc.
Be your own scientist, work out how your body copes with the different forms of dairy, and if you can take it out.
Our bodies need iodine every day. It is the major player in our thyroid functioning, yet most of us do not get iodine each day. People use Himalayan pink salt, seaweed from sushi rolls, seaweed snack packs, or from fish and seafood they eat.
It is really hard to work out how much iodine we need each day. If you have too little or too much it will throw your thyroid results out of balance.
I am not a fan of the taste of seaweed, so I buy organic dulse powder and I make my own capsules (I bought capsules and a machine that helps me fill them) so all I need to do is take a capsule each day and I know I have my iodine for the day. I buy 500g of Atalntic Dulse Powdered Sea Vegetable from hippocrates.com.au, for $90 and has enough for 16 months, and I bought 1000 size 1 clear vegetable separated capsules for $35 and the S100 capsule filler machine for $39 from gecapsules.com.au.
It is really important to have some selenium every day. I used to have 2 brazil nuts but realised after about 2 years that I didn't feel like my thyroid was working well and had my kinesiologist test to see if my body was accepting the selenium from the brazil nut, where I learned it was a no.
So now I buy a bottle of selenium and take a dose from the dropper each day, I don't actually measure it perfectly, but at least some per day is important, or I buy the BioCeuticals selenium drops and have 3 drops per day - can be bought at chemist or health food store.
The research has shown that a large percentage of the worldwide population is deficient in vitamin D and it plays a large role in thyroid, metabolism and many other bodily functions.
I personally have found using the spray is more effective than a tablet.

At the end of September 2021 I was interviewed by Iva Ursano from her series Hell To Happiness where 25 women told their stories of how they overcame hell to get to a place of happiness. Follow this link to watch my story https://youtu.be/_Y0QRbQEY78
